DEEP BITE MALOCCLUSION: EXPLORATION OF THE SKELETAL AND DENTAL FACTORS

Background and objective: A deep bite malocclusion may be due to skeletal dental factors. The analysis of the etiological factors have an influence on treatment plan. aim this study was exploration most common that contribute in Yemeni individuals, as well correlations between them. Material methods: a cross-sectional prospective conducted evaluate 136 individuals with bites using casts lateral cephalometrics (62 males 74 females), ages ranging from 18 28 years, Onyx program used for analysis. recorded data collected, tabulated, statistically analyzed by SPSS. Results: Gonial angle Jarabak index form highest contribution (59.3%), least contributing were decreased saddle (3%), followed decreases inclination angle) Pn line- PP) (11.1%). On other hand, factor exaggerated curve spee (63.5%), clinical crown length Lower first molar (52.6%), increased maxillary incisors. There more correlation than Conclusion: Deep characterized mostly counterclockwise rotation mandible curve. Understanding contributors will help clinicians treat patients malocclusions successfully.
